DANTE

“DANTE asks young people to think about and dissect the world so that they can understand and improve it. The show is an incredible lesson in what young voices can create and do.

Diane Luby Lanefounder and executive director of Get Lit – Words Ignite.

DANTE is a musical adaptation of Dante’s Inferno penned by Raul Herrera and co-produced by Get Lit and The Actors’ Gang Theater. Featuring the Get Lit Players & Literati Fellows, it follows Dante through all of Los Angeles’s temptations, both hellish and blissful, to a path of self-discovery and ultimately, redemption.

Each night will feature a different sin such as “LUST” ( single’s night), “GLUTTONY” ( a summery feast) and more! Inspired by Hamilton, under the guidance of former Get Lit mentor Daveed Diggs, with music by Wilkie Ferguson, Dante is the cultural event of the summer.

Penned by college student and Get Lit poet Raul Herrera, featuring the Get Lit Players and Literati Fellows, the musical adaptation of Dante’s Inferno explores the power of young voices in our current culture.

Set in modern day Los Angeles, DANTE is about a young man’s second chance at redeeming himself, having to go through hell in order to confront his demons and realize that one can’t live and learn without making mistakes.
