A Wednesday night live evening at the Actors’ Gang
In challenging times, in times of division and uncertainty, music has always been a unifier, a salve, a path forward. Every movement that has resisted oppression and advocated for significant change has had, at its core, a messaging propelled by music. From sea shanties to the chain gang to the struggle for workers rights and the civil rights movement, songs have provided strength of purpose and conviction and a unified message that push the movement forward. With Hootenanny, An Evening of Protest Songs we are celebrating this important music built to be sung along with, a music that seeks the collective voice of the community.
We invite you to join us and sing along protest songs performed by Tim Robbins, Sunny War, Jolie Holland, The California Feetwarmers, David Robbins and The Get Lip Poets!
